29th: POLICE thanked readers of The Evening Telegraph after a teenager was arrested following CCTV film of a sickening attack being shown on our website.

Other suspects could have also found themselves facing questioning from detectives after readers who had watched film of the horrific assault on an innocent boy having a barbecue with friends on the Embankment, came forward with vital information.

Some people even posted potential names of the gang seen kicking, punching and slapping their helpless victim, on the www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk website.

The CCTV film was later removed from our site due to legal reasons, but police were delighted that readers had brought new impetus to an investigation which began after the attack on May 5.
