16th: THOUSANDS of commuters were left stranded when a fault with overhead power lines brought rail services to a grinding halt.
All trains between London and Peterborough were cancelled when Network Rail staff discovered power lines had crashed on to the track near Huntingdon.
People catching trains at King's Cross were told they could only travel as far as St Neots. This left hundreds of frustrated travellers waiting there for several hours while coaches were called in.
There were also queues outside Peterborough station as people attempted to find alternative methods of transport.
19th: A SHOCKED gardener dug up bones on her allotment sparking a major police operation.
Officers arrived at the plot of land in the Palmerston Road allotment site in Woodston, Peterborough, and immediately set up a crime scene.
Some feared the keen gardener had dug up the remains of a murder victim buried under her vegetable patch.
However, a vital clue was later unearthed when the remains of what is thought to be an ancient Roman bowl was discovered alongside more bones.
22nd: SELF-STYLED Power Rangers helped their school win an environmental award.
The green-minded city pupils grew their own vegetables, composted food waste and kept a close eye on electricity usage.
All youngsters at Peterborough's Sacred Heart Primary School are taught the importance of saving energy and treating the world around them with respect.
