MARTIAL ARTS: Members of the Annabel Murcott School of Tae Kwon Do won 17 medals at the British championships.
ATHLETICS: There was a notable cross-country double as city cop Neil Addison sped to the Cambs title and Cat Foley won the Lincs crown.
FOOTBALL: Darren Ferguson was the shock appointment as Posh manager after previous boss Keith Alexander paid for a run of six straight defeats with his job.
GYMNASTICS: Eye gymnastics sensation Louis Smith grabbed a gold and three other medals in the Australian Youth Olympic Championships.
FEBRUARYFOOTBALL: A glorious era of Sunday morning football came to an end when the ultra-successful Royal Oak team folded after 19 trophies in 12 years.
RUGBY: Peterborough Lions retained their Hunts & Peterborough County Cup trophy after a 23-22 victory over Borough 2nds. Celphyn John, Pep Aschettino and Jason Monaghan scored the tries.
ROWING: City schoolgirl Georgia Evans smashed the British record when striking gold at the English Indoor Rowing Championships. The 12 year-old, who attends Jack Hunt School and is a member of Peterborough City Rowing Club, won the J13 race in Manchester as she covered 828 metres in three minutes.
SQUASH: Tania Bailey's hopes of retaining her British squash title were ended when she lost to sixth seed Jenny Duncalf in the quarter-finals.
SPEEDWAY: Panthers completed their team to defend the Elite League title by unveiling local lad Danny King as their final signing. The Huntingdon-based 20 year-old moved on loan from Ipswich.
MARTIAL ARTS: Kelly Ding (11) won silver and bronze medals at the Tae Kwon Do world championships in Mexico.
POOL: Carly Smith celebrated one European title but bemoaned missing out on another. The Peterborough potting queen helped England to the European Team Championship but suffered a 7-4 defeat against Welsh player Collette Hendrickson in the singles final.
MARCHATHLETICS: Jack Jones of Nene Valley Harriers won the national indoor Under 15 high jump title in Birmingham and finished runner-up in the National Combined Events Championships in Manchester.
ROLLER HOCKEY: Six Peterborough Roller Hockey Club members played for England in an international tournament in Portugal. They were Sam Cayley, Richard Claxton (Under 15s), Michael Carter, Lewis Dann, Oscar Smith and Oliver Johnson (Under 13s).
ICE HOCKEY: Peterborough Islanders netminder Kelly Herring was picked to play for Great Britain in the Women's World Championships.
RUGBY: Peterborough's James Clarke, Pete Brudnell and Darian Uys were in the East Midlands team that beat the Barbarians 33-21 in the Mobbs Memorial match.
KICK-BOXING: City youngster Kaya Smith (13) won the gold medal in his age group at the big Irish Open competition - one of the biggest in Europe.
FOOTBALL: Powerleague Under 15s added the Hunts Cup to the Peterborough Youth League Division One title by beating Needingworth on penalties in the final.
SPEEDWAY: Panthers started the season with a bang, beating Coventry 94-87 on aggregate to win the Elite Shield.
BOWLS: It was a great month for Peterborough's Nicky Brett. First he helped England to runners-up spot in the British Isles Indoor Series, then he helped England retain the European Team Championship title in Cyprus before winning the national Champion Of Champions singles crown for the second year running.
FOOTBALL: Wisbech St Mary Yellow Under 12s finish their league season on an unbeaten note, beating Guyhirn 4-0 to win the Junior Alliance Division Three title.
TRIATHLON: City triathlete Simon Hoppe won the bronze medal in the New South Wales Championship in Australia.
FOOTBALL: Perkins Reserves won the Northants Area Cup by beating ON Chenecks A 2-1 in the final with goals by Rafal Kula and Chris Challis.
HOCKEY: City of Peterborough finished their National League North Division campaign on a high beating Stourport 5-0 to secure a mid-table finish. City hot-shot Gareth Andrew hit five of ther goals to finish the season on 49.
FOOTBALL: Stanground beat Sawtry 5-4 on penalties in the Hunts Under 12 Cup final.
FOOTBALL: Wisbech St Mary Under 11s completed their league season unbeaten to win the Division Three title.
FOOTBALL: Peterborough Sports beat Kislingbury 3-1 to win the Northants Junior Cup after extra time. Dwayne Rankin and Jamie Graham got the goals.
BOXING: Eli Frankham (13) from Wisbech Amateur Boxing Club won a title at the national ABA Golden Gloves finals.
BOWLS: Ean Morton (pictured) won three titles at the Northants Federation indoor finals.
APRILJUNIOR FOOTBALL: Reece Walker fired a 25-yard wonder goal to shoot Woodston Blues Under 10 to glory on Junior Alliance League Cup Finals weekend.
Northborough Blue Under 9s, Abbey Under 11s, Wisbech St Mary Purple Under 12s, Netherton Under 13s and Bourne Under 14s were the other cup kings.
GOLF: Peterborough golfer Alex Banham created a slice of history when becoming the first ever girl to win the junior title at Newmarket Golf Club.
DARTS: City player Nadine Bentley received a first call-up to the England squad for friendly internationals against Holland.
GREYHOUNDS: Hot favourite Westmead Prince roared to victory in the Peterborough Puppy Derby at Fengate for trainer Nick Savva.
FOOTBALL: Local goalscoring legend Mark Baker was granted the perfect goodbye from the Sunday morning game. Baker brought the curtain down on a career spanning 28 years and around 850 goals by finding the net as Brotherhood Works won the McCains with a final victory over Fitzjohn Ingle.
MARTIAL ARTS: Baston girl Lauren Morgan (15) retained her English Tae Kwon Do Championship title for the fourth successive year. There was more success for the Annabel Murcott club when newcomer Katie Smith (13) took gold in her very first competition.
FOOTBALL: Deeping Rangers celebrated capturing the United Counties League Premier Division title for the first time in their history. Boss Tuncay Korkmaz described the achievement as his 'proudest moment in football'.
SPEEDWAY: Panthers equalled the club record victory in the modern era when smashing Lakeside 65-25 at the Showground.
SNOOKER: Chatteris star Joe Perry crashed out of the World Championship in the first round. He went down 10-3 against Stephen Maguire at the Crucible.
FOOTBALL: Silver Jubilee FC (now Bretton Park Rangers) roared to the biggest achievement of their 25-year history when winning the Northants Lower Junior Cup. Mark Downing and Danny Wilder scored the goals as they beat Clipston FC 2-0.
MAYFOOTBALL: Peterborough Sports completed an honours double when adding a first Peterborough League Premier Division championship to their Northants Junior Cup crown.
FOOTBALL: Powerleague Under 16s enjoyed a fabulous last stand by winning the Hunts Cup in their final match together. They lifted the trophy after beating Sawtry 5-4.
TRAMPOLINING: Matthew Gladders (11) won a National Grade Competition in Birmingham.
ICE HOCKEY: Phantoms Under 12s won the South Division Two title with a 100 per-cent winning record.
ICE HOCKEY: Legendary Doug McEwen quit as Phantoms coach after leading the club to the English Premier League play-offs. The Canadian star stood down as he was emigrating back to his homeland.
SQUASH: Skipper Tania Bailey defeated former world champion Vanessa Atkinson to clinch the European Championships for England. - the nation's 30th triumph in the event.
FOOTBALL: Alconbury lifted the PFA Senior Cup after a couple of Gary Gibbs goals inspired them to an extra-time success over Moulton Harrox at London Road.
LADIES FOOTBALL: Clare Knibbs scored a late winner as Peterborough Ladies lifted the Eastern Region League Cup with a 1-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.
FOOTBALL: Stamford man Dave Bryan was a linesman as Chelsea beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
JUNEROWING: A host of young local talents joined forces to strike gold at the National Schools' Championship. Jack Hunt pupils Sam Tuck, Oliver Salonna, Tom Chung and cox Adam Fox teamed up with Ed Rippon from King's to with the 1,000m Junior 14 quad event in a record-breaking time. James Fox won silver in the Junior 15 single sculls at the same event.
MOTORSPORT: Deeping sidecar ace Rick Long etched his name into Isle of Man TT folklore after a stunning double in the famous event. The 45 year-old became the most successful passenger in the event's 100-year history when partnering Dave Molyneux to two wins over the famous circuit.
SPEEDWAY: Panthers riders were branded 'a complete and utter disgrace' after the club fell to a shambolic 63-27 defeat at Swindon in the Elite League KO Cup - but they finished the month by winning seven successive league matches.
